The Company

The company established in 1996 with the founding of Monolith Greece in Western Thessaloniki by Kesidi brothers, who were Greek settlers of Pontic descent. The two brothers found an important need that the Greek market was lacking in: products familiar to newcomers to Greece who had adopted eating habits from countries that had previously resided. Since then, the main focus of the company has been the import, representation and delivering of food products from today’s Eastern European countries. 1997 is an important year for Monolith Greece, as it joins the Monolith Gruppe Group, the largest European group in the food and beverage import and trade sector from Eastern Europe, which is represented in 9 EU countries. An additional important fact of the company is the expansion of its activities in 1999 with the opening of the Athens branch to meet the needs of South Greece and its islands.

More than 3,000 sq.m. total area

In 2005, Thessaloniki branch moved to new privately owned facilities, with a capacity of 2,500 square meters, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, thereby upgrading the company’s dynamics to meet European standards.Currently, the company is going through its 23rd year of operation in the Greek market and is a pioneer in the field of “Russian products”, holding over 20 years of experience in this field. There is a wide variety of products, with 2000 refrigerator, shelf and freezer codes, while a privately owned car fleet meets the needs of 500 inland locations on a weekly basis such as grocery stores, supermarkets, restaurants and wholesale warehouses.

Mix Markt

Since 2008, Monolith Greece has been developing 21 Mix Markt Retail Stores and the same year the Mix Markt Greece Retail Chain is established, listing 20 locations throughout Greece. This idea originated with the need to upgrade the end-user experience and for this reason, the spacious new stores are equipped with the latest tools contributing to this initiative. The consumer can now find a full range of Russian products in combination with branded Greek on the shelves, which now covers all consumer needs. The company is fully Greek and at the present time, it employs a staff of up to 150 people.
